FREE CALCULATOR
Convert an hourly wage to a yearly salary, or a salary to an hourly rate — with your own hours and weeks worked.
All figures are gross, before taxes and deductions. If you are self-employed, also check the self-employment tax set-aside calculator, since nothing is withheld from your income for you.
Annual pay = hourly rate × hours per week × weeks worked. At $25 an hour, 40 hours a week and 52 weeks, that is $52,000 a year, about $4,333 a month, $2,000 every two weeks and $1,000 a week. To go the other way, divide a salary by hours per week times weeks worked: $60,000 over 2,080 hours is about $28.85 an hour.
The standard 2,080-hour year assumes you are paid for every week. If you take unpaid time off, work seasonally or have a part-time schedule, lower the weeks or hours and the result changes quickly. Comparing an hourly job to a salaried one is only fair if you also account for paid time off, benefits and any unpaid overtime the salary quietly covers.
Log your income and expenses as you go, see real monthly profit on a live dashboard, and keep an automatic tax set-aside so you know what's actually yours. Excel and Google Sheets.
Multiply your hourly rate by the hours you work per week and the weeks you work per year. Full-time is usually 40 hours and 52 weeks, or 2,080 hours.
Divide the annual salary by hours per week times weeks worked. A $60,000 salary over 2,080 hours is about $28.85 per hour.
